Have work experience and relevant skills · Complete any required training · Pass a background check and general health check · Basic earning. In Oregon, there are no minimum requirements required by the state for independent caregivers. Despite this, most independent caregivers referred by Caregiver Connection have a CNA degree or have other healthcare-related backgrounds, such as nursing studies or acupuncture. We select caregivers who have at least 3 years of experience, including a combination of experience in private tasks, in centers, in hospices and in home care.
In addition, caregivers must receive at least 3 hours of additional training per year to meet continuing education requirements.
